Board of Directors

Jason Taylor

Chair

Jason Taylor

Lake Area Collision, Walloon Lake, MI

Jason Taylor owns Priority Auto Body in DeWitt and Lake Area Collision in Walloon Lake, along with Evolve ADAS Calibrations, a company dedicated to advanced driver-assistance system calibrations. He entered the collision industry in 2008 as an adjuster for a major insurance carrier, then went on to run multiple collision repair shops in general manager and operations roles. A move into distribution with a major paint distribution company brought him to Michigan. In 2022 he purchased his first shop, Priority Auto Body. He added Lake Area Collision in 2024 and Evolve ADAS Calibrations in 2025 to meet the growing demand for accurate calibrations as vehicles become more complex.

Having worked on the insurance, shop and supplier sides of the industry, Jason brings a broad perspective to the challenges Michigan shop owners face. His businesses are committed to proper repair procedures that return vehicles to pre-loss condition. He joined MABA because Michigan shops need a strong collective voice to advocate for safe repairs and fair practices for shops that repair vehicles correctly. Jason has been married for 20 years, and he and his wife have three awesome sons and a golden retriever named Ace.

Brian joined the MABA board with a passion for bringing safe and effective repairs to Michigan consumers and fair practices for shops that want to repair vehicles correctly.

Joe Townsend

Treasurer

Joe Townsend

Dunshee Body & Frame, Kalamazoo & Vicksburg, MI

Joe Townsend owns Dunshee Body and Frame, with locations in Kalamazoo and Vicksburg. He started in collision repair in 1997 as a porter and detailer while studying business management at Western Michigan University, then moved through paint, parts, estimating and production management. In 2005, his mentor and Dunshee’s owner, Ken Draayer, entrusted him with running the business, and Joe purchased it in 2015. He added the Vicksburg location in 2018 and a Battle Creek shop in 2020, which he later sold to focus on the other two.

Dunshee is a family-owned company committed to OEM certifications and proper repair procedures that restore vehicles to pre-loss condition. Joe credits his staff and the peers he met through 20 Groups and industry events for shaping his career. After 29 years in the business, he joined MABA because Michigan needs a strong collective voice for the industry and for customers who deserve safe, proper repairs.

Scott Webster

Secretary

Scott Webster

Premium Truck & Auto Body, Clarkston, MI

Scott Webster and his wife, Ashley, purchased Premium Truck & Auto Body in Clarkston, Michigan, in October 2025. Scott oversees the day-to-day operations alongside their team. He began his automotive career in October 1992, sweeping floors at Matthews Hargreaves Chevrolet. Over more than three decades in the collision and service repair industry, Scott progressed through positions including estimator, assistant manager, collision center manager and fixed operations director, before moving into consulting with both dealership and independent collision repair facilities.

Scott’s motivation for joining the Michigan Auto Body Association comes from his firsthand experience with the Automotive Service Association, particularly the North Oakland County group, which he played a significant role in establishing and leading. He considers his involvement with that group one of the most valuable decisions of his professional career. The relationships, shared knowledge and opportunities for personal and professional growth proved invaluable. Scott believes that some of the industry’s greatest strengths come from professionals learning from one another, sharing their experiences and working together toward common goals. He hopes to bring that same spirit of collaboration and mutual support to MABA.

Cofounders

Don Speace

Cofounder

Don Speace

Axalta, Holly, MI

Don Speace is a cofounder of the Michigan Auto Body Association and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the coatings industry, starting in commercial and industrial coatings and spending the past seven years in automotive refinish, working side by side with collision repair shops across Michigan and seeing firsthand the challenges owners face every day. Don serves on the Michigan I-CAR Industry Advisory Committee. In his home community, he serves on the Rose Township Planning Commission and as Vice President of the Rosmar Shores Civic Association.

Don cofounded MABA in 2025 because Michigan shops deserve a strong collective voice for safe, proper repairs and fair practices. Modeling the association on successful state groups like the Auto Body Association of Rhode Island (ABARI), he and cofounder Dustin DeLongpre worked nights and weekends to build MABA’s website, membership system and sponsorship program and to draft its governing documents. They then handed leadership to a board of shop owners.

Dustin DeLongpre

Cofounder

Dustin DeLongpre

Axalta, Grand Rapids, MI

Dustin DeLongpre is a cofounder of the Michigan Auto Body Association and has been involved in Michigan’s collision repair industry since his teenage years. Growing up in the trade gave him firsthand experience with the opportunities, relationships and career growth collision repair can provide for individuals and families. He is proud to have helped establish MABA alongside fellow cofounder Don Speace, creating a statewide organization dedicated to uniting collision repair professionals and strengthening the industry.

Dustin joined MABA because he believes Michigan collision repair businesses need a strong, unified voice focused on education, collaboration, advocacy and safe, quality repairs. He is passionate about giving back to an industry that has provided so much to him and his family, and about helping ensure future generations have the same opportunity to build successful careers in collision repair.
